While I was out and about this morning I stopped at a garage sale that was not too far from our home and boy I am glad I did. I found two vintage Millers Falls block planes.
Hoping to find more nice tools I dug around in a few boxes but didn’t find anything else I could use.
Both of these are in excellent shape, the blades are the original are also in good shape. I figured at most I would need to clean these up a bit, true up the bottom and sharpen the blades.
I asked for a price and he told me $5 each. I bought them both, today was another lucky day! When I got home I looked up the value of these Millers Falls planes and they are worth about between $25 and $35 each. The #87 plane was manufacturer from 1935 to 1971 and the #206 was manufactured from 1959 to 1971. If you are interest in learning more about the Millers Falls tools, check out the Old Tool Heaven. I can always use a couple more planes, tomorrow I plan to clean and tune these up. It was another lucky day for me and I am happy!
another great score for you! you’re on a roll… 🙂
