Great Blue Heron at nest with babies
I had a few more pictures I wanted to share from our Hilton Head vacation!
Great Blue Heron young about ready to leave the nest!
Looks like he caught Dinner!! Not sure what it is, maybe part of a fish!
I love watching and taking pictures of the Great Blue Heron, they are magnificent birds!
Only a couple days before the 4th of July, I hope everyone doesn’t have to work and plans to spend time having fun! Maybe grilling out with the family and friend!
Oh wow…what an elegant bird!
What fabulous photos! They look like paintings 😉 Best wishes, WG
thank you Elizabeth, I hope your mother is doing better!? 🙂
Yes, thank you for asking, Michael. A little progress each day….
Are you ready for the weather? We are looking forward to some rain, and wish the wind to stay out to sea… best wishes, WG
Great!! I hope we don’t get much from Arthur unless it comes close to shore, but still we are 250 miles away. I’d like a little rain 🙂 Have a great 4th of July!
Thank you, Michael- You, too! All plans for Friday are shut down here, with picnics and fireworks rescheduled for Saturday- which is wise. I had planned to return to visit family today, but decided to stay off the roads and get things in order here. We know we finally have rain on the way 😉 and hope that is the extent of it; but know we’ll have at least some wind as well. So long as Jim Cantore doesn’t roll into town, we’ll know we’ll be OK 😉 Take care,
E
how awesome! these are great shots!
thank you Tex, I took about 40 pictures and these were the best.
Stunning photos! Such beautiful creatures.
Yes, I agree, the Heron are very beautiful birds 🙂
Wonderful shots Michael!
thank you Cathy!
So pretty. You see some nifty things when you go away.
Yes, Hilton Head is full of wonderful animals and pictures for photographing!
What great shots? Did you just happen upon the nest? I love seeing these birds around the lakes and ponds here near home.
A happy soon to be 4th to you as well Michael 🙂
The timeshare we have is near the Shipyard golf course, these pictures were taken at the golf course at a huge lake that is surrounded by thick trees. All along the lake shore line nearly on top of each other the Heron built nest. It’s like this every year. I hope you and your have a Happy 4th! 🙂
that should be an exclamation point after great shots!!!! 😉
thank you! 🙂
What truly delightful scenes…thank you for sharing, and happy 4th to you and your family!
thank you Elisa!! 🙂
It isn’t often you get to see baby great blue herons because the nests are so high up.
I hope you don’t see any rough weather there. It sounds like Arthur is headed your way.
Good evening Allen, These pictures were taken at the golf course at a huge lake that is surrounded by thick trees. All along the lake shore line nearly on top of each other the Heron build nest. Most of the nest were about 10 to 20 feet above the water. It’s like this every year. Arthur is suppose to leave us rain all day tomorrow.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
