Can you see him? He is hiding in the pine mulch!
There he is, moving kinda slow!
I watched this snail for about 15 minutes and during that time he only moved 2 inches. This time of year it’s easy to find the snails and slugs, they are attracted to the plant areas I am watering. Last night I found and killed 21 slugs in my garden.
As I sat there watching him, I couldn’t decide what to do with him. He was in my rose garden, so I knew he would not bother my roses but he could snail his way into the hosta garden. I ended up moving him into the woods. Maybe he will find another place to eat and I hope he didn’t leave behind any hiding babies or cousins! 🙂

A wonderful and comforting quotation! Glad you let the little guy live. Great photos! WG
thank you!! I just found your card in the box behind the bag, thank you for the note!!! It was a pleasure trading plants maybe we can do it again soon 🙂
😉 Yes, I’ll look forward to doing that. I don’t believe either of us have a shortage of interesting plants to trade 😉 WG
oh I’m so glad you moved him–something moving so slowly, needs a little extra understanding—the shell makes me more sympathetic–no shell–get the salt shaker!! 😉
I agree with that, no shell, get the salt shaker!! I also use tuna cans just below the mulch filled with beer and the slugs go right in to drink and die!! 🙂
Speed is relative, I guess. It all depends on where you need to go.
Yes, and it is better to go slow! 🙂
i’m sure he’ll have plenty to eat there. 🙂
Loved all the gate and fence pictures today… I forgot to post 😦
I was glad he was gone until you mentioned babies. Do they care for their young? 🙂
Oh, they just lay eggs and slowly move on, but they lay a lot of eggs! Not good!
We’ve got hundreds of them in our garden Michael. I don’t even try and move them or get rid of them any more! If I put out a beer trap for them they’d just have a party! LOL!
Oh no, I don’t think I could handle hundreds of them 😦 I use tuna cans just below the mulch filled with beer for the slugs! 🙂
What appetites they have! I think they eat faster than they move.
Oh yea, I agree with you on that Allen! 🙂 I loved your insect pictures!!
