Pi Day

So tomorrow is Pi Day, the Greek letter “π” is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Do you remember learning about Pi in school?

On Pi Day, many people celebrate by eating their favorite pie! If I had to pick a favorite pie, it would be the strawberry pie!!

Delicious strawberry pie

Then there is the pizza pie!! I love pizza and there is a new place in town that has an awesome Meatball Pizza Pie!!!

Or maybe you like the traditional pizza!!

There are so many pies, it would be hard to list all of them, many are sweet but there are others that are comfort food!

Like the chicken pot pie!!!…delicious on a day like today, all rainy and cool!

So, what is your favorite pie!     Is it sweet or savory?     Comfort food?

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!!

  1. Oh Michael this is great!! With the craziness in my life, I had totally forgotten pi(e) day—I worked with a math teacher who’s alter ego is Pi Guy—he actually dresses up like a psychedelic super hero on Pi day and all of his math classes celebrate by bringing in all sorts of pies. He also is a “eating” contestant, dressing up as Pi Guy when he goes to these insane contests—he’s ranked 56th in the world of eating contest winners—or whatever you call such a person 🙂
    Pies looking good
    Hugs Michael

    • Homemade apple pie would be great!! Especially with vanilla bean ice cream!! 🙂 I thought of you today when I found and purchased the larges piece of spalted maple I have ever seen. I’ll have to take a picture of it and email it to you! Enjoy your weekend!

  2. The apple and pear pie that my husband makes every fall.
    For sure.
And he didn’t pay me to say so.
Though if he paid in more pies, I would likely say anything he wishes.
    I think.

    Your pie looks pie-fectly lovely.

  3. Rhubarb pie, mincemeat pie, peach pie, cranapple pie are all favorites of mine, and we’re currently enjoying walnut pie. :-9
Of course, pizza pie is also a favorite, as well as chicken pot pie and tuna pot pie.
Now I had better go run around the block for all the weight I gained just talking about delicious pies! 😀

    Happy Pi(e) Day!
