This time of year everyone is enjoying their favorite ice cream and favorite toppings. The variety of ice cream and toppings is endless. Everyone loves chocolate, what is your favorite? What’s your favorite topping, brownies, marshmallows, nuts, chocolate syrup, caramel, cookie dough, etc.?
Months ago on Instagram I met a wonderful person and an amazing artist, her name is Deb. We both had been following, liking, commenting and admiring each others work. Through many emails we got to know each other and decided to arrange a trade.
Deb decided that she like black walnut and wanted a nice size cutting board. She told me that she was in the middle of a kitchen remodel and I was envisioning how beautiful her kitchen was going to be.
My wife, also a Debbie and I love pottery. I had been looking for a couple of ice cream bowls to match our kitchen. Before I knew it we had worked out a trade.
Deb made me the most beautiful ice cream bowls, I love them and they do match our kitchen colors. The are on display in our kitchen, only when they are not being used!
Check out Deb’s post on the black walnut cutting board, Honey Lavender Lightly Frozen with Fruit. Deb is a very talented artist, check out her pottery on her blog and/or her Instagram!
I love my ice cream bowls and I am so glad I met Deb, maybe someday we will meet in person!
So, what is your favorite ice cream and toppings?
I think I can honestly say I like just about any flavor except fruit flavors. That chocolate you have in those beautiful bowls looks pretty appealing to me. 🙂
The chocolate is pretty good! Love chocolate! 🙂
Beautiful works of arts, both ceramics and the wood. Great idea, to barter like this! I wish I could do the same but my “works” are all perishable… 🙂
Yes, I agree, love my new bowls!
that is what we call a twofer—-two wonders coming from one place 🙂
Glad to see you back posting–and I now, please fix me a bowl—just plain chocolate please 🙂
I have not heard that in a long time Julie!! Plain chocolate it is, love it!
What a fabulous trade Michael! So envious of you guys.
Thank you, I think I got a great deal from an awesome person and artist!
Those are gorgeous bowls! I’m so glad to hear from you…………summer is hard to work in some blogging but just know you’ve been missed! The ice cream looks wonderful!
Hi Kelli, thank you! it’s been a long and hard summer, dealing with family medical problems.
So sorry Michael – I understand! Must take care of family first!!
That sounds like a good trade!
I like black raspberry with chocolate syrup, but chocolate syrup is good on just about anything.
It was a awesome trade, Deb is a wonderful person and make some awesome pottery! black raspberry sounds good! 🙂
I can’t pick just one ice cream Michael – and I LOVE these bowls – they are beautiful. Good trade 🙂
Hi Tricia! I know what you mean! The bowls are awesome! thank you
Michael, you work is so spectacular, I am honored and thrilled to see my bowls together with your boards. I will use and treasure my walnut board forever. Ice cream? Anything caramel…perhaps my homemade white chocolate salted caramel pecan ice cream with extra caramel sauce?
Hi Deb! thank you so much, I also feel the same about your work, absolutely awesome and beautiful!! 🙂 White chocolate salted caramel pecan sounds great! Would have to have 2 scoops of that one!
Those bowls on that black walnut cutting board look gorgeous Michael!! I don’t think I can narrow down my favorite ice cream!! I’ve got so many! Enjoy the end of summer Michael!
Hello Mary Ann, thank you! I can understand that!
What a great deal for the both of you! I love me some Blue Bell Peaches and Cream when I’m in Texas. Otherwise I like good old-fashioned vanilla with a few pecans thrown on top.
Oh yea, that sounds good! 🙂
Chocolate is hard to beat. We just enjoyed having Dolly’s ice cream twice while up in Brevard, I love all their camp flavors.
I agree, chocolate is hard to beat! We also enjoy visiting Dolly’s too!
What a lovely story – the bowls look beautiful against the dark wood of the board. Favourite ice cream combo? As long as hot chocolate sauce is available, I’m happy with chocolate, vanilla or even cherry ice cream. Mmm!
Looks like a great trade to me! Your work is so glorious, Michael.
Yes was an awesome trade Cynthia, thank you!!! Has Lauren used the board? I was hoping for her to send me a picture of the board in her kitchen!?! 🙂
I know she will. Very busy at work at present, but expect to see it.
I understand, thank you!
Oh my….ice cream, brownies…
Alas! There is no ice cream in my house and no scoop!
HI Mary! sounds like you really need some ice cream! 🙂
The black walnut cutting board is just beautiful and so is the pottery! What a nice trade. 🙂
Deb does awesome work!
