They did indeed arrive!  So positively beautiful – thank you sooooo much!  I don’t guess you’d consider making a salt & pepper shaker set in a similar shape but larger?  The wine bottle stoppers remind me so much of a set I received as a wedding gift made from a very dark wood.  They would be beautiful in one of the beautiful woods and/or wood/acrylic combos!!  If you would consider it, I’ll try to find my old ones and send you a pic!

I just got home and saw them. Wow, I just love them. It is so nice to see your work. I know the families will adore them. A little info on where one of the boards is going. The family for the 16″ round board is getting ready for his fifth olympics on the US team this summer.  They are finally settled in the US after years of traveling for work.

I can’t say how much I love Michael Laico! I have ordered many times from him and every item I have received is a work of art. His craftmanship is exceptional and every piece is beautiful. Dear Michael,
It is absolutely magnificent!  My husband says that he’s not sure now what he was expecting, but that what you have created blows away whatever expectation he had.  He has informed me that it is a piece of art, and I shouldn’t use it….
At the moment it is resting in the light where we can visit it and admire it 😉  Not in the kitchen…..
I will use it and enjoy it-he wants me to use it as a serving piece, not an every day work surface.  And truthfully, the grains and patterning in the wood you chose is just magnificent.   It is peopled with all sorts of beings- we’ve found a bear, several eyes, and other creatures so far.
I love how the wood contrasts on one side of the board, and melts almost seamlessly from the large piece of wood to the smaller one on the reverse.  You matched the grains perfectly so they look almost like they grew together.
There just aren’t enough words, Michael.  It is so absolutely smooth, and the extra sanding makes the grain appear mulch-dimensional.  It shimmers and moves with the light.
We love the live edge.  It is perfectly finished, beautifully shaded, wonderfully sculpted, and transports this piece from the everyday to the extraordinary.
Thank you so much for all of the love and care you poured into creating this wonderful cutting/serving board.  We will enjoy it so much.

Hi Michael, I did receive the ice cream scoop & it is beautiful!  It is a Christmas gift for my son who loves to make ice cream.  We have a similar ice cream scoop with a wood handle (but slightly smaller) & my son asked if he could have our scoop so instead I began looking for one. When yours came, my husband said, “Oh! let’s keep this one & give Evan the old one” !!!

Oh Michael,
There just aren’t words- Thank you for constructing such absolutely gorgeous works of art for us!  And Two!  You have blessed us richly, and we both appreciate it so very much.  My husband just loves them both 😉 And the grains in the walnut are the prettiest I’ve seen.  The grain looks just like rippling water, or perhaps that special pattern in the sand as the tide is going out where the sand is sculpted by the water.

The design, the proportions, and the finish on the wood are just perfection.  The boards feel like silk.  I will admire them for a while before actually putting any food on them!

We will tell everyone we know, who loves fine wood, about you and your work, Michael, and I’ve already taken photos to post to Forest Garden this afternoon.  We were out when they arrived, and found them on the porch.  Everything was in perfect condition.  Thank you for packing them so well.

Hey Michael,
I started woodburning designs into cutting boards a few months ago, creating some really nice pieces. Though the designs were custom, my boards were still cheap, mass-produced boards available from department stores. Today I received my first Michael’s Woodcraft board, a custom piece, which I’ll be using on my next big pyrography project. It’s so much nicer to work with a real board. Rather than the look of something you might find on the shelves of a store, I’m now working with something that you might see in the kitchen of a chef. Thanks so much for this custom piece. I’ll send you photographs once I’m done with the design.
